Seeking Riches

The scriptures teach that you are not supposed to seek after riches – but instead, you should seek after the kingdom of heaven and then the riches will follow. Which is why recently I have been going to all my meetings and trying to be as humble and charitable as I can.

In fact, my faith is so strong in this holy promise that I have already started planning all the ATVs and jet skies I am going to buy when the cash finally does start to flow.

Not to mention all of the enemies whom I will destroy with that money and influence.

Dude me too. I am going to be the coolest philanthropist when my dollars start rolling in. I've been real good so I am expecting it'll be a pretty big payout.

Based on my experience with a troll on another blog, I think we are misinterpreting this scripture. I think we are being told not to seek after Richs. We should be seeking after Moronis and Nephis and Josephs and Thomases, instead.

I sought after a Rich and now I have four of his descendants. I totally misunderstood!

“If I ever get real rich, I hope I'm not real mean to poor people, like I am now”.- Jack Handey.

Truly inspiring post. Thank you Bro. Gatsby!

I am concerned that this promise could be a trick to get us to be good, kind of like our parents used on us or we now use on our kids. There is a complete lack of specificity in the promise. What riches? When and how will they be delivered? What do we really need to do? Are there performance measurables? This must be one of those faith things.

The Televangelism Scripture (park of scripture mastery)

Proverbs 6:16-20;
16 These six things doth the LORD allow thee to take with thee when thou departest from thy tabernacle of clay:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 An riches got by seeking the Kingdom of Heaven.

...and, and, and, I am going to get me some bling. Seriously Gatsby, work on the humility.

Your blog is utter awesomeness.

I, too, have a "wish list" (of sorts) but I leave the humility and goodness up to my husband...I'm as bad as I want to be and he'll just share his spoils with me.
